Purpose
Responsible to provide integrated management of GTS LATAM services to local customers including notification and escalation with an effective communications Country.
Leadership role to lead aligned to technology standards and operational processes, builds and nurtures solid relationships with all business partners and technical groups.
Responsibilities
Management of GTS services offered to the country, providing a single point of accountability and local engagement (country-level) for all GTS products and services.
Deep and broad understanding of the country ecosystems, infrastructure, technology and operational conditions.
Budget planning for new GTS initiatives, Infrastructure validation and input for the elaboration of local Business Cases, for each fiscal year.
Focal point in the country for delivery of RFS (follow up, approvals, status notification).
Technology Infrastructure validation and input for the elaboration of local Business Cases.
Invites and participates in Technology Project Review and Operational Readiness and participates in other local technology committees including operational risk, IT risk, information security; for Change Management: Participates in local CAB and Pre-Cab, presents and advocates for RFCs in the country.
Delivered monthly by CDM to the country CIO and his team in a session where the GTS LATAM leadership participates. It covers key indicators, trends and highlights on Service Management, GNS, End User, Financials, Audit, and all aspects of the infrastructure operations.
In conjunction with Solutions Engineering and Delivery management teams, “own” technology solutions and ensure that they meet operational needs. Work alongside these teams to monitor the implementation progress, provide technical oversight, intervene where necessary when projects challenges are encountered, and proactively seek to manage these challenges by providing technical leadership.
Education/Experience
University degree, in Engineering, Communications and System Infrastructure or related field.
English - fluent.
Minimum of 10 year’s experience in IT Datacenter Operations & Technical service delivery in senior leadership roles.
Experience as technical SME in the technologies used in datacentres to provide application services.
To be effective a thorough knowledge of the Bank’s formal and informal organization structure is imperative.
Must have the ability to directly interface with Executives from within the Bank, as well as executive management from outside vendors.
The individual must have the ability to manage staff who works under extreme stress situations in the management and delivery of technical solutions in support of the Bank’s business objectives. Due to operational requirements the Director and reporting staff may be called upon to work non-standard hours.
Must have the technical and managerial depth and breadth to oversee the solutioning, provisioning and new technology delivery across a broad spectrum of technologies. The position requires expert understanding of emerging technologies, operational best practices, development methodologies and technical architecture pertaining to the Scotiabank’s global Infrastructure.
